Greyhounds defeat AACS, 73-62, to stay in MIAA A playoff hunt

Gilman School came back from a 14-point deficit, outscoring host Annapolis Area Christian, 41-22, in the second half to get a huge MIAA A Conference road win, 73-62, over the host Eagles.

The Greyhounds, playing their second game in less than 24 hours in Anne Arundel County, made it two straight after topping Archbishop Spalding on Thursday, jumping the team right back into the playoff hunt.

Jalen Rucker led the way with a career high 39 points, which included an impressive 16-for-16 from the free throw line.

Gilman is now 6-12 overall and 3-7 overall. They are battling Loyola (3-6) and Calvert Hall (4-5) for what will likely be the fourth and final playoff seed to come out of the A Conferene’s Red Division. At 8-0 and 8-1, respectively, St. Frances and Mount St. Joseph are locks for the post-season at the top of the division and St. Vincent Pallotti (6-2) has a solid grasp on third place.
