Fifth-ranked Greyhounds allow just one goal in 8-1 victory
The Gilman lacrosse team displayed an impressive defensive effort, Tuesday on the road in Parkton, as the Greyhounds blanketed No. 14 Hereford, 8-1, in a Top 20 boys lacrosse battle.
Hereford’s lack of scoring was as much about its ability to control the face-offs and dominate possession once they won the ball.
Seven different Hounds scored at least one gaol, with Sam King being the only one with two. He also added an assist. Gilman’s other scorers were Andy Andrews, Pierce Washburn, Billy Spillman, Hank Bethel, Wallace Halpert and Jed Brummett.
Adding even more contributors to the score sheet were Logan Paff, Will Godine, Jack Tortolani and James Schoelder all producing one assist. Noah Klein made the start in the Gilman goal and made nine saves over the first three quarters. He allowed Hereford’s only goal which came off the stick of John Kousouris.
Gilman is now 3-2 while Hereford is now 1-1.
