Falcons lose first quarter lead, close with authority to claim second MIAA A win

After waiting nearly two seasons to get their first ever MIAA A Conference basketball victory, the Gerstell Academy Falcons now have their second in as many weeks, as they turned in a big second half, at home Wednesday, to defeat Loyola Blakefield,  60-51.

Gerstell started well in building a 16-11 first quarter lead, but Loyola surged in the second quarter to take a three point advantage into the half. The Falcons (3-4 overall, 2-4 MIAA A), however, dominated the second half, outscoring the Dons 39-25 to close out the win.

Jeremiah Stanton had a big night with a game-high 21 points, while Jamari Glover and Antwan Thompson combined for 26 more.

Senior Cam Smith led Loyola with 20 points. The Dons are 2-5 on the season.
