If you are unfamiliar with the name Jalen Gabbidon, you won’t be for long. The senior transfer from Harrisburg Academy (PA), where he averaged 40 points per game last year, made his debut with Glenelg Country, Tuesday, scoring 18 points to help lead the Dragons to a 64-49 boys’ basketball romp at Chapelgate Christian, in the annual Route 40 Classic between Howard County MIAA rivals.

Gabon already has more than a dozen Division I scholarship offers and should be a valuable asset to Glenelg Country in the MIAA A Conference this winter.

GCS outscored Chapelgate 12-5 in the opening quarter and stretched its lead to nine at the half. The host Yellow Jackets drew back within four with a strong third quarter, before the Dragons pulled away again in the fourth.

Isaiah Burnett added 14 points for Glenelg Country, while Caidon Owen, Anthony Longpré and CJ Willson combined for 19.

Jason Murphy and Jalen Morant each scored 11 to lead Chapelgate.
