Eagles slip past Gerstell, 47-46
McDonogh freshman Everett Cooper scored 10 points in the Eagles 47-46 win over Gerstell Academy, Friday night, with none bigger than the final two, which vaulted the Eagles to victory in the closing seconds.
Cooper was on of three McDonogh players in double figures, as Drew Green led the way with 14 points and Dave Brown scored 13. Perhaps the Eagles’ biggest performer in the contest was Curtis Jacobs who had eight points and 17 rebounds.
Host Gerstell outscored McDonogh in each of the first three quarters and led 35-29 entering the final stanza, but McDonogh rallied with an 18-11 run, which was capped by Cooper’s game-winner.
Ahmad Harrison paced Gerstell with a game-high 20 points.
