Curley grad, after a record breaking college career, excels as an NFL rookie

New Orleans Saints return specialist, an Archbishop Curley graduate and an undrafted rookie free agent out of Division II Assumption College (MA), has been named to NFC roster of the Pro Bowl.

Harris, the NFL’s leader in punt returns, combined returns and punt return yards, is the first undrafted Saint to make the Pro Bowl roster as a rookie. Harris came to New Orleans has 792 combined return yards on the season. He’s also just one of four NFL players to have a punt return touchdown this year.

Harris was named the 2014 Varsity Sports Network Offensive Player of the Year after leading Curley to an undefeated season and the MIAA B Conference title. He recorded 2,030 yards of total offense that season and scored 25 touchdowns. In the championship game he scored five touchdowns.

At Assumption, he became the NCAA’s all-time leader for combined touchdown returns with 14 and set the Division II single season record with eight eight combined TD returns and another single season record with five punt returns for touchdowns. He was also named to numerous All-American teams in both 2017 and 2018. He finished his college career with 45 touchdowns and 6,173 all-purpose yards, both school records.

Harris is one of four former VSN Football Players of the Year who played in the NFL this season. The others are:
