No. 18 Gerstell rallies past Winters Mill for ninth straight victory; Carpenter scores 21
Anthony Carpenter finished with 21 points, six rebounds and three steals and Khyle Washington had a double-double: 15 points and 10 rebounds, leading No. 18 Gerstell Academy to a 76-63 victory over Winters Mill in a non-league boys’ basketball contest in Carroll County Friday evening.
Trailing 54-52, the Falcons (11-8 overall) outscored Winters Mill, 24-9, to extend their winning streak to nine. Brad Witt and Ahmad Harrison combined for 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Chandler Gentzel led Winters Mill (1-13) with 20 points and junior Avery Serafin finished with 16 points. The Westminster school looks to snap a 13-game losing streak Wednesday against Carroll public league rival Manchester Valley.
Gerstell is back action Saturday at home against No. 17 Indian Creek School in a battle for first in the MIAA B Conference.
