Three-time MIAA A champion Calvert Hall is one of seven from the MIAA to face a powerful national field
Session I of the 2019 National High School Lacrosse Showcase (NHSLS), one of the nation’s premier summer events for high school lacrosse teams, will take place this weekend (July 12-14) at Blandair Park in Columbia.
Session I features the more elite programs and has become a fertile ground for college recruiters observe the nation’s top players. Many of Baltimore area’s elite programs are represented in the 44 team field which is divided in seven pools.
Each team will play four pool games over the first two days with the top seeds advancing to the championship bracket which gets underway on Saturday afternoon and concludes on Sunday.
Bracket A features three time defending MIAA A Conference champion Calvert Hall along with Hereford. They will compete with Bullis School, Baldwinsville (NY), Lambert (GA) and the Black Grizzlies (MI).
Boys’ Latin is in Pool B, along with New Tier (IL), Episcopal (VA), Mercer Island (WA), Canadaigua (NY) and Deerfield Academy (MA).
Loyola is in Bracket C with in DC stalwarts Gonzaga, Landon as well as Bellvue (WA), Higham Red (MA) and St. Thomas Aquinas (FL).
Pool D includes Gilman along with Lakridge (OR), Paul VI (VA), Collegiate (VA), Highland Park (TX) and Culver Academy (IN).
Pool E contains no local teams as Lake Highland Prep (FL), Upper Arlington (OH), St. Stephens/St. Agnes (VA), Lincoln-Sudbury (MA), Conestoga (PA) and Flyers (NY) fill the bracket,
McDonogh is in Pool F with Lovett (GA), St. Alban’s, IMG (FL), St. John’s (DC) and LA Cobras (CA).
Pool G includes St. Paul’s and John Carroll, along with Ponte Vedra Gnats (FL), Haverford (PA), Fayettsville-Manlius (NY), Ridgewood (NJ), Blue Brothers (MI) and Yorktown (NY).
