Junior Inaya Jones tossed a no-hitter and Maya Smith drove in six runs including a third inning grand slam as Dunbar High routed Patterson, 22-0, in a Baltimore City softball contest Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Victoria Bolden also went deep and had 3 RBI for the Poets (2-0 overall), who reached the Class 1A state semifinals last spring. Jones struck out 14 and walked two on the mound, and went 2 for 3 at the plate.
Junior Briah Myers and senior Dawnyea Felton each had a triple, and junior third basemen Shamar Prilliman stole five bases.
The east Baltimore school will take part in the inaugural President Cup’s Tournament Saturday when it takes on Institute of Notre Dame at Patterson Park.
Cristo Rey will take on Digital Harbor at Swann Park in the other opening round match Saturday.
