The Glenelg Country basketball team is easily overlooked in the basketball rich MIAA A Conference, but that would be a big mistake for the Dragons league rivals this season.

Seventh-year head coach Kevin Quinlan returns three starters who combined to average 35 points per game last winter, and welcomes a sensational senior transfer.

Leading the cast of returners is senior Anthony Longpré, a two time All-MIAA selection and a Canadian import, returns for his final year in Ellicott City. Longpré, who has committed to St. Joseph’s (PA), averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds per game last year.

Also back are seniors Isaiah Burnett and CJ Wilson, who each averaged 10 points per game last year. The talent and experience of those three would be enough to make the Dragons dangerous, but there is another ingredient being added to the mix.

Jalen Gabbidon, is a senior transfer from Harrisburg Academy (PA), where he averaged 40 points per game last year. Already with more than a dozen Division I offers, Gabbidon led the Dragons to a title in the St. Paul’s Summer League and provides one more weapon for Quinlan to utilize.
