The Loyola Blakefield lacrosse team had a very interesting box score from its 9-6 MIAA A Conference victory over eighth-ranked Gilman School on Tuesday afternoon.
Playing at the new U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters Stadium in Sparks, the No. 7 Dons (4-5 overall, 2-1 MIAA A) got single goals from different players to win for the second straight time in league play.
If the Dons had a standout it was Liam Bateman, who had three assists to go with his goal. Alex Reid also had a goal and an assist. The remaining goals came from Gavin Dambeck, Colin Clothier, Jack Koras, Connor Hume, Phil Wies, Ryan Dunn and Alexi Breschi.
Gilman (6-4, 1-2 MIAA A), which was led by two goals from Piper Bond, led 3-2 after one quarter and 4-3 at the half. Loyola, however, scored four unanswered goals in the third quarter and that proved to be the difference.
Wade Oursler, Jordan Yaffe, Zach Jones and Ronald Fisher also scored for the Greyhounds, while Woody Kelly had an assist.
