Lakers pull away from Calvert Hall, 68-44

Host Boys’ Latin broke open a three-point game with a 15-8 second quarter run and the Lakers went on to win their first basketball game of the season with a 68-44 MIAA A Conference victory over Calvert Hall.

The Lakers (1-3 overall, 1-2 MIAA A) were paced by a 23-point effort by senior Lorenzo Donadio. Donadio scored 11 of his points in the third quarter when BL outscored Calvert Hall 20-10 to take a commanding 55-35 lead.

Junior Will Spencer added 18 points for the Lakers and sophomore Tre Green netted 13 points.

Freshman Mike Williams was the only Calvert Hall player to score in double digits as he finished with 12 points, all scored in the first half. Junior Olu Olaniran finished with eight points, all scored in the second half.

The Cardinals, who won two-of-three at the Good Counsel Tournament over the weekend, fell to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the A Conference.
