The Severn Admirals, the two time defending MIAA B Conference soccer champions, played their best game of 2016, Saturday morning at Boys’ Latin, routing the host Lakers, 4-1.
Devin McCarthy scored all four goals for Severn, two in each half. McCarthy’s brother Jack assisted on the first goal of the game and Henry Reed also assisted in the first half. Kevin Rainey and Tate Taczak assisted on the two second half tallies.
In goal, Trevor Shanahan was lightly tested, but did come up with four saves in the victory.
Severn (6-3 overall) improved to 3-1 in the league where it is tied for second with Saints Peter & Paul, three points back of first place Friends School. BL fell to 2-2 in the conference and 2-3 overall.
