No. 14 John Carroll completed an impressive undefeated run through its MIAA B Conference schedule, Friday, routing visiting Glenelg Country, 15-5, to clinch the top seed in the league playoffs, which get underway on Friday.

On senior night for the Patriots, the built a 7-3 halftime advantage and pulled away throughout the second half. Jude Brown paced the Patriots with 3 goals, Matthew Lowery controlled possesions for JC by winning 15-of-17 face-offs.  Dean Laponzina also finished with 13 saves in goal.

In collecting its 10th consecutive win, John Carroll improved to 17-6 overall and 8-0 in the conference. Glenelg Country (8-6 overall) finished second in the league with a 6-2 record and will join the Patriots with an opening round bye in the playoffs. Both teams will host semifinal games next Tuesday.

Elsewhere in the conference on Friday, Friend edged Saints Peter & Paul, 12-11, and Archbishop Curley defeated St. John’s Catholic Prep, 12-9. This left Friends, Curley and Saints Peter & Paul all tied for third with 5-3 league records. In the head-to-head battles, Friends was 2-0 and thus the Quakers claim the third seed. Saints Peter & Paul beat Curley so the Sabres claimed the fourth seed and the Friars were left with the fifth seed. Park (4-4) is the sixth seed.

Thus in Friday’s quarterfinals, Friends will host Park and Curley will visit Saints Peter & Paul in Easton. Next Tuesday, the Curley/Saints Peter & Paul winner will travel to John Carroll and the Friends/Park winner will visit Glenelg Country.
