Sidleck has a hat-trick as the top-ranked Friars rout Shipley, 8-1
Tommy Sidleck netted a hat-trick and Nick Richardson scored twice as the Archbishop Curley seniors paced an 8-1 rout of Shipley School, from Bryn Mawr, Pa., Wednesday, helping top-ranked Curley complete a two-game sweep of its season-opening visit to Philadelphia, in boys’ soccer.
Ben Stitz, Nick Balcer and Bryce Woodard also scored for the Friars (2-0), who opened their season on Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Haverford, Pa. Anthony Dragisics contributed a pair of assists, while Balcer, Stitz, Sidleck, Tyler Harry and Ken Clapp had one each.
No. 11 Loyola also spent the last two days in Philadelphia. After opening with a 7-1 win over Germantown Friends School on Tuesday, the Dons played Haverford to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.
