Down 6-3 at the half, Archbishop Curley stiffened its defense, allowing Park School only one second half tally, as the Friars rallied for a 9-7 MIAA B Conference lacrosse victory, at Curley on Friday.
Rodney Petit led Curley with 3 goals and assist, while goalkeeper Alex Scholz finished with 10 saves, including 5 big ones in the third quarter as the Friars made their move.
Anthony Scarpola and Jalen Lomax scored twice each for Curley, while David Bell and Brendan Clay had one each. In addition, Ben Smith had 3 assists for the Friars.
Curley’s comeback spoiled a 6 goal performance by Park’s Eli Freedman, who also had an assist. Alex Willard scored the other goal for the Bruins.
Curley outscored Park 4-0 in the third quarter and held the Bruins scoreless for the first 23 minutes, 58 seconds of the second half, with the Bruins finally getting back on the board with just 2 seconds to play.
