As Bartz takes the helm of Gilman basketball; veteran Pratt replaces him at ICS

In May Gilman School announced that it had hired Indian Creek boys basketball coach and Gilman alum Will Bartz to lead its varsity basketball program, replacing Own Daly, who stepped down from the position after nine seasons.
Bartz, who oversaw the development of the Indian Creek program from its infancy, graduated from Gilman in 1999. He went to Franklin & Marshall University and, although he did not play college basketball, he served four-years as a student assistant coach and one year as a graduate assistant, learning the coaching ropes under Glenn Robinson while winning two Centennial Conference titles and reach the NCAA Division III Final Four.
In 2004, Bartz joined the faculty at Indian Creek and became the school’s first basketball coach. The school played as junior varsity program through 2007 before joining the MIAA C Conference for the 2007-2008 season. In its third year as a varsity program, Indian Creek reached the league playoffs for the first time and made five consecutive appearances in the league championship game from 2011-2015. ICS made the jump to the MIAA B Conference in 2015-16 and reached the playoffs in its first season.
While Bartz makes the jump to the A Conference with his alma mater, his replacement at Indian Creek is a man capable of bringing the Eagles to that level as well.

Josh Pratt, who guided Huntingtown to 38 wins over the last two years, including a school record 21 in 2015-16, has long record of coaching success in the area.
After cutting his coaching teeth as a JV coach at both St. Vincent Pallotti and Archbishop Spalding, Pratt spent one year as the boys varsity head coach at St. Mary’s and four years in the same role with Towson Catholic, where he coached NBA future stars Donté Greene and Malcolm Delaney and winning two MIAA A Conference titles.
After the closure of Towson Catholic, Pratt returned to Pallotti where he spent four years as the school’s girls varsity head coach. He also spent one season each with the head coach of the boys teams at Chesapeake Science Point and Chesapeake-AA, before taking the Huntingtown job.
