Richards and Felder combine for 31 points to lead the Yellow Jackets


Down 15-7 lead at the end of one quarter, Chapelgate Christian outscored host Severn 22-6 in the second quarter to seize an eight-point at the half of its MIAA B Conference basketball game at Severn School, Tuesday night.

Severn inched closer throughout the second half, taking the lead late in the fourth quarter, before the Yellow Jackets pull out an exciting 53-52 road victory with last-second basket.

Lance Richards and Jax Felder combined for 31 points to lead Chapelgate, with Richards edging his teammate for team-high scoring honors, 16-15. Jordan Praylow added 12 in the win.

Ian Munroe scored 15 points to lead Severn and Adam Angwafo netted 14 points.

Chapelgate (4-3 overall) was playing its league opener, while Severn (3-3 overall) is now 1-1 in the B Conference.
