Calvert Hall, one year after winning the MIAA A Conference and Baltimore Catholic League basketball titles, has begun a new era following the graduation of a wave to Division I talent, as the Cardinals traveled to Friends School Monday, and won 65-59.

The Cardinals started fast, building a 21-12 lead after one quarter and leading 37-26 at the half.

Senior Justin Gorham scored 23 points to lead the Cardinals, while sophomore point guard Brendan Adams netted 17. Senior Austin Griffiths also reached double-figures with 14 points.

Jihar Williams scored 23 for Friends to match Gorham for game-high honors, and Rossano Jones added 16 for the Quakers, who are expected to contend for the MIAA B Conference title.
