Second-ranked Calvert Hall appeared destined for its first loss in MIAA A Conference baseball play, Monday, as the Cardinals trailed No. 16 Mount St. Joseph 7-2 entering the bottom of the sixth inning. Calvert Hall, however, scored seven times in the sixth and pulled out a 9-7 victory.

With the game tied at seven in the sixth, Nate Bosse ripped a two-run double, plating Ian Elliott and Ben Stewart with what proved to be the game-winning runs.

Nick Delp had three extra-base hits, a double, triple and home run, for the Cardinals (6-1, 4-0), to go with a walk and four RBI. He also made the start and pitched five innings, giving up all seven Gael runs, five of which were earned. Stewart pitched the final two innings and claimed the win.

Leading 1-0, St. Joe scored five times in the fourth. Calvert Hall got two back in the home half of the fourth, but the Gaels (3-1, 0-1) scored a single run in the fifth to take the 7-2 lead.

Clark Clatchey and Andre Brown each had two hits to lead St. Joe. Brown, Tim McManus, C.J. Parting, Matt Sniezek, Max Rogers and Ben Wilson all had a RBI for the Gaels.
