Calvert Hall ended a four-game losing streak, Wednesday, as the Cardinals went on the road and captured a 59-52 come-from-behind MIAA A Conference basketball victory over host Archbishop Spalding.
The result eliminated Spalding (10-16 overall, 5-10 MIAA A) from A Conference playoff contention and, combined with St. Vincent Pallotti’s win over St. Frances (5-10), clinched a post-season slot for Calvert Hall (12-16 overall, 7-6 MIAA A).
Calvert Hall started slowly and trailed 29-23 at the half. The Cardinals, however, surged to a three-point lead after there quarters and got win.
Brendan Adams paced the Cards with 24 points and Luke Cornish scored 14. Adams drained four three-pointers and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Derrick Hinton led Spalding with 19 points, including five three-pointers, and Timothy O’Farrell finished with 11 points for the Cavaliers.
