It’s only the first week of March and Baltimore is still covered in snow and slush, but Calvert Hall’s offense appears to be in mid-season form as the Cardinals scored 29 goals in two games to complete a sweep of season-opening lacrosse swing through Durham, NC.
One day after beating Cardinal Gibbons (NC) 11-1, the Cards dropped 18 goals on Cape Henry Collegiate (VA), Sunday morning, to claim an 18-4 victory.
Thirteen players scored at least one goal, led by a six-point performance by Timmy Kelly, who had three assists and a hat-trick. He had plenty of help.
Jason Brown, Jacob Kelly and Kevin Bartenfelter each scored two goals and the trio combined for four assists. In addition, JT Bugliosi has a goal and four assists. The other Cardinals who scored were Ryan Powers, Michael Fanshaw, Zach Green, Jack Kinnear, Austin Glab, Brian Speigle, Timm Certeza and Connor Pearce. Kinnear added an assist as did Brendan Curry and Omari DeBerry.
Calvert Hall also dominated the face-offs. Powers was a perfect 10-for-10 in his draws, while Chance Campbell and Patrick Regan each won 5-of-6 attempts.
