Calvert Hall headed south, Saturday, to kickoff its 2015 lacrosse season and the Cardinals had plenty of success, as they dominated defending NC state champion Cardinal Gibbons, 11-1, in Durham.

Twos were wild for the Cardinals in the opener as attackmen Timmy Kelly, Ryan Brown and Jacob Kelly each had two goals and two assists.

The specialists also shined for Calvert Hall as Ryan Powers won 12-of-13 draws and goalkeeper Joe McSorley made eight saves while allowing just one score. McSorley was protected in front by defensemen Jonathan Kohles, Jed Manning, George Rittenhouse and Luke Reader.

In the midfield, Zach Green also scored twice and added an assist, while JT Bugliosi added a goal.

On Sunday, Calvert Hall will complete his two-game swing through the Tar Heel state with a game against Cape Henry Collegiate (TN).
