Paced by 21 points from junior forward Justin Gorham, second-ranked Calvert Hall College avenged an earlier loss to Gilman School by routing the Greyhounds, 85-59, Monday, in MIAA A Conference action in Towson.

Calvert Hall jumped to a 45-28 halftime lead and then scored 27 third quarter points to completely break things open.

Nico Clareth scored 17 points and Evan Phoenix added 12 for the Hall (22-5 overall, 13-4 MIAA) which stayed a half game behind first place and top-ranked Mount Carmel, which defeated Loyola Blakefield Monday, and a half game in front of John Carroll School (23-4, 12-4), which stopped a three-game slide with a 51-43 home win over fourth-place Mount St. Joseph (19-8, 11-5).

Everett Winchester and Tyler Foster combined for 29 points to lead Gilman (9-14, 6-10 MIAA A).

The league’s top four will be in action again on Wednesday, as John Carroll travels to Calvert Hall and St. Joe hosts Mount Carmel.
