In a contest with huge momentum swings, No. 8 Calvert Hall built an 11-point lead after three quarters and held on for a 1-point victory over No. 15 Gilman, Friday night in Roland Park.

Gilman lead by one after a tight first half, but the Cardinals (6-2, 2-1) outscored the Greyhounds 23-11 in the third quarter to build 44-33 advantage. Gilman (7-4, 3-2) then battled back in the final quarter, but came up 1-point short despite a 3-pointer at the buzzer from Everette Winchester.

Winchester scored a game-high 21 points.

Austin Griffiths scored 14 to lead Calvert Hall and Cameron Briggs netted 13.
