Calvert Hall turned in perhaps its best defensive effort of the season thus far, Tuesday, as the No. 3 Cardinals limited visiting Archbishop Spalding to just six goals and captured an 11-6 MIAA A Conference lacrosse victory.
Cardinal keeper Joe McSorley recorded nine saves and his defenders kept the defensive zone bottled up, while the Cardinals did their usual proficient job on offense.
Cousins Timmy and Jacob Kelly led the way with a combined seven goals. Timmy Kelly scored four times and had two assists, while Jacob Kelly had a hat-trick and one assist.
Jason Brown also had another big day for the Cardinals (9-2, 2-1) scoring two goals and handing out two assists. Jack Kinnear added one goal and one assist and Luke Ciccarone also scored.
In addition, Ryan Powers (11-of-15) and Chance Campbell combined to win 15-of-20 face-offs.
