Proceeds to benefit Claire Marie Foundation to battle adolescent melanoma
Can the girls hang with the boys on the volleyball court?
You could find out on Friday, Sept. 8 when the Notre Dame volleyball team hosts the boys from Calvert Hall, but the results of this one really don’t matter. The two schools are partnering to raise awareness and funds for the Claire Marie Foundation, which is dedicated to raising awareness about adolescent melanoma and helping children and adults prevent the deadly disease.
Claire Marie Wagonhurst was student and athlete at NDP when she passed away at the age of 17 after a long battle with melanoma, or skin cancer.
Prior to her death, Claire had voice her desire to be an advocate for raising awareness about the disease. Although she did not live long enough to have that opportunity, her family has championed her cause through her foundation.
Admission to the match is $10 and all proceeds will go to the Claire Marie Foundation. Visit the link below to learn about the foundation and make a donation if you cannot attend the volleyball match.
