Two Calvert Hall alums, both named Brown, combined for 14 goals in the Satuday’s Johns Hopkins/Ohio State Big 10 lacrosse game, played in Baltimore at Homewood Field and a third Cardinal added a goal as CHC tallied a total of 16 points in the contest, won by the Buckeyes, 15-12.

Hopkins’ Ryan Brown, a junior attackman, led the way with eight goals and one assist. A former Under Armour All-American at the Hall, where he scored 39 goals and had 14 assists and help the Cardinals win the MIAA A Conference crown his senior year, Brown has 36 goals and eight assists this season for the Blue Jays.

For Ohio State, junior attakman Carter Brown (no relation ot Ryan) scored six goals in the contest, while sophomore middie Johnny Kelly scored once. Carter Brown had 24 goals and 10 assists for Calvert Hall’s 2012 championship squad. Kelly was a four-year starter at Calvert Hall and was an Under Armour All-American. In addition, he was teammates with the Browns of the 2012 MIAA championship team.

A total of six former Cardinals played significant minutes with Carter Brown, Kelly and Erik Evans starting for Ohio State.  Ryan Brown started for JHU, while Phil Castranova and Kelton Black playing a several minutes as short stick midfielders.
