Saints shutout Central Maryland Christian, 38-0

Concordia Prep, which played a limited varsity football schedule last fall as it revamped its program, returned to the gridiron on Friday in impressive style, opening its 2018 season with a 38-0 rout of Central Maryland Christian.

Senior Charlie Byers led the way with two big plays, hauling in a 37-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Colin Glenn and returning a punt 70 yards for a score.

Glenn completed 6-of-12 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns and produced 318 yards of total offense. He also gave up a pair of interceptions.

Seniors Cameron Weng and James Mickens also scored on touchdown receptions from Glenn, of 54 and 56 yards, respectively. In addition, senior running back Jhymir Pearson rushed six times for 105 yards and a touchdown. Freshman Keenan Gilchrist also added 53 yards on five carries.
