No. 12 Boys’ Latin School received a strong MIAA non-conference challenge, Friday night, from visiting Archbishop Curley, before prevailing with a 52-47 victory.

Curley (9-9) held the Lakers to just six first quarter points as it bounded it out to a 14-6 lead. Jaylin Andrews scored seven of his game-high 16 points in the second quarter, but BL (17-8) still trailed 26-21 at the half.

The Friars still led after three-quarters, but Brandon Bradsher scored five points in the quarter as the Lakers moved within one, at 39-38. Bradsher would finish the game with 10 points, all in the second half, including his 1,000th career point, and four assists.

Cameron Spencer added 11 points and three steals for Boys’ Latin, which finally took the lead in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Friars 14-8. Andrews also added nine rebounds.

Junior Brandon Knapp drained four three-pointers for Curley and led the Friars with 14 points.
