No. 11 Boys’ Latin School and No. 15 St. Frances Academy had the local high school basketball stage all to themselves, Monday evening, as most area teams had the night off in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.  For those that did venture out to Phelps Gym in east Baltimore for the MIAA A Conference battle, they were treated to a close clash, won by the host Lakers, 64-62.

Senior point guard Brandon Bradsher put on a show for the Lakers, scoring 15 of his game-high 21 points in the final quarter to will the Lakers to victory. Bradsher went 9-of-10 from the free throw line and added four assists.

Junior Jaylin Andrews pitched in with 13 points, four assists and six rebounds, while freshman Brandon Murray scored 10 points and had six rebounds.

Jordan Goodwin paced the Panthers with 21 points, including 17 in the second half. Boys’ Latin (13-6 overall) is now 4-4 in the league where it sits in third place in the Black Division. Defending champ St. Frances (7-12 overall) is now 2-6 in the A Conference and in serious danger of missing the playoffs for the first time.
