Fueled by 16 points from Brendan Fields and 14 from Logan Wisnauskas, host Boys’ Latin made quick work of Avalon School, Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the Laker Invitational, to reach Sunday’s championship game.
Boys’ Latin will face St. Stephens/St. Agnes (VA) in the final, as SSSA advanced with a 60-29 semifinal win over Coppin Academy. In Friday’s opening round, BL defeated MIAA B Conference rival Severn, 65-36, and SSSA edged St. John’s Catholic Prep, 61-55.
In its victory over Severn, which also counted in the MIAA B Conference standings, Boys’ Latin was again led by 14 points from Frields, while Blair Brooks added 10 and Colin Heacock and Casey Rees scored eight each.
