Freddie Bopst threw three of touchdown passes, including a 10-yarder to Christian Knight in overtime to rally visiting Boys’ Latin to a 24-17 victory over previously unbeaten Severn, Friday afternoon.
Severn took a 17-14 lead in the fourth quarter as Brett Bedard rushed for an eight yard touchdown. Moments later, BL (1-1) tied the game with a 17 field goal by freshman Dominic Maggio.
The first quarter was scoreless, but Severn led 9-7 at the half as the Admirals (2-1) sandwiched a four yard touchdown pass from Ben Priddy to David Jones and a 40 field goal by Priddy around a 35 Laker yard touchdown pass from Bopst to Alec Blitzstein, in the second quarter.
Boys’ Latin led 14-9 at the end of three periods after a 10 yard touchdown throw by Bopst in the third quarter.
