No. 7 Boys’ Latin traveled to Annapolis, Tuesday afternoon, and started extremely fast as the Lakers registered a 12-8 win over No. 6 St. Mary’s in MIAA A Conference lacrosse action.
BL stunned the host Saints in building a 6-0 lead in the opening quarter. St. Mary’s rebounded to score six goals of its own in the second quarter, but still went to the half trailing 10-6. Both teams got defensive in the second half, splitting four goals, which was good enough for the Lakers to claim the victory.
Colin Heacock scored four points with two goals and two assists. The Lakers also got hat-tricks from Colin Chell and and Greg Pyke, as well as two scores from Tally Bruno. In addition, Shack Stanwick had four assists.
John Kluh, Nate Lewnes and Tim Hardy all scored two goals to lead St. Mary’s.
BL is now 8-5 overall and 1-2 in the A Conference. St. Mary’s fell to 2-1 in the league and 7-3 overall.
