Calvert Hall College junior Brendan Adams had a career high performance, Sunday, as the Cardinals went on the road and defeated St. Vincent Pallotti, 68-61, in MIAA A Conference basketball action in Laurel.

There was nothing Adams could not do in this one, as he completed a double-double with 10 rebounds and also had six assists. He was 13-of-17 from the field and 12-of-16 from the line.

The 12th-ranked Cardinals jumped out to a 16-8 first quarter lead and edged the lead up to nine in the second quarter. Pallotti narrowed its deficit to three after three quarters, but the Cardinals closed out the victory as Adams scored 13 points in the final quarter.

Logan Curtis was the only other Cardinal in double figures, scoring 10 points.

Everette Hammond led Pallotti with 23 points, while Abdul Coulibaly netted 12 points.

Calvert Hall (9-11 overall) evened its league record at 5-5. The Cardinals are battling both Pallotti (9-8 overall, 4-4 league) and Mount Carmel (4-4) for the final two playoff spots in the A Conference’s Red Division. All three are chasing first place McDonogh School (8-1).
