Eagles become the second MIAA/IAAM program to suspend

One day after it was revealed that John Carroll School would suspend its fall athletic programs because of positive COVID-19 tests, at least through Thanksgiving, Annapolis Area Christian School became the second school in the Baltimore area to announce it will suspend athletics, effective Monday.

AACS has not revealed any positive tests in its athletic program, but the Eagles made the move in response to an order by Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, earlier in the week, that suspended Anne Arundel Recreation Parks youth sports, also effective Monday.

The County Executive’s order does not directly impact Annapolis Area Christian’s high school teams, but the school made the move out of an abundance of caution. The Eagle athletic teams were participating in the open-season declared by the MIAA and IAAM in October.
