Eagles come from 20 down in the final quarter; Severn takes third place

The Annapolis Area Christian boys basketball team staged a stunning fourth quarter rally in the championship game of its own Eagle Classic, Saturday night, coming from 20 points down in the final quarter to knock off visiting Atlantic Shores Christian, 88-55.

AACS (2-1), which routed Grace Christian, 88-55, in Friday’s tourney opener, was led by 25 points from Mekhi Marshall. Marshall scored 15 of those points in the 4th quarter and he had 10 steals in the contest.

Marshall also provided the assist to Tre Sims, who nailed a dramatic game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Earlier in the evening Severn School (3-2) captured the third place game, as the Admirals defeated Grace Christian, 70-52. Ian Munroe led Severn with 18 points. Adam Angwafo added 12 and Colin Donegan scored 11 points.

This was the 25th annual edition of the Eagle Classic.
