Johnson nets 19 as Eagles rout St. Mary’s
The Annapolis Area Christian boys basketball team has stepped up to the daunting challenge of the MIAA A Conference in 2017, but before the Eagles leap into their new league they opened their season on Wednesday with a 64-43 win over St. Mary’s, one of their former rivals in the B Conference.
The Eagles doubled up the host Saints, 14-7, in the first quarter and built their lead gradually from there.
Junior Jordan Johnson led the way for AACS with 19 points and classmate Aaron Celcis netted 11 points. In addition, senior Robert Johnson added nine points.
St. Mary’s (0-2) got a team-high 11 points from Patrick Devitt and nine point from Cam Brown.
