Cavaliers even their mark in the MIAA A Conference


Archbishop Spalding bounced back from a lopsided loss at Calvert Hall on Friday to even its MIAA A Conference lacrosse at 2-2 with a 6-5 win at Mount St. Joseph on Tuesday.

Spalding score three unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 5-2 lead into the half, by St. Joe countered with three unanswered scores in third quarter to even the contest. The defensive seesaw continued into the fourth, the the Cavaliers getting the only goal to pull out the victory.

Evan Donnelly was super in goal, making nine saves, and Will Sherwood led the offense with two scores. Russel Melendez added a goal and an assist, while Seaon Morrison, Burke Webb and Connor Suplee had one goal each.

Spalding is now 7-4 overall and are well in the playoff mix in what is a very balanced league in 2018. St. Joe (5-5 overall) dropped to 1-2 in the conference.
