Severn tops Glenelg Country for a return to the MIAA B finals
Admirals will face Boys' Latin in Sunday's finals at Harford Community College
The Severn baseball team advanced to the MIAA B baseball finals for a second consecutive year with a 12-2 win over second-seeded Glenelg Country, Friday in Ellicott City. Severn will face defending champion Boys' Latin, Sunday at 1:00 p.m., at Harford Community College. To capture the championship, the Admirals need to beat the Lakers on Sunday and again on Monday, in an "if game."
Ty Benz was dominant on the mound for Severn, going the distance for the win. He scattered five hits, walked five and struck out five. He worked himself out of every jam he encountered and was able to allow Severn to not burn arms heading into the finals.
Offensively, Severn pounded out 15 hits on the day. Benz helped himself chipping in three hits and three RBI. Brendan Gauthier added three hits as well.
