Glenelg slides back into VSN boys' lacrosse Top 20 poll

Gladiators land at No. 20; McDonogh moves to 2nd


With state public postseason underway, Glenelg High is the lone new entrant in the latest VSN boys' lacrosse Top 20 poll. After being routed by Centennial in the regular season opener, the Howard County squad avenged the loss in the 3A/2A South Region quarterfinals last week, ending the then-15th-ranked Eagles' season.

Calvert Hall College is again No. 1 as the MIAA A Conference playoffs begin Friday. McDonogh School, Boys' Latin School, Severna Park and St. Paul's School rounds out the Top 5.

1. Calvert Hall College (Record: 14-2; Last week's ranking: No. 1)

Last week: The Cardinals defeated No. 5 St. Paul's School, 8-3, and then-No. 2 Boys' Latin School, 11-10.

2. Boys' Latin School (12-5; No. 2)

Last week: The Lakers lost to No. 8 Gilman School, 6-5, and No. 1 Calvert Hall College, 11-10.

3. McDonogh School (14-3; No. 3)

Last week: The Eagles defeated Archbishop Spalding, 11-4, and No. 6 Loyola Blakefield, 13-9.
