Mount Carmel baseball edges Glenelg Country in eight innings
Mount Carmel spoiled Glenelg Country School's Senior Day, Tuesday, as the Cougars claimed a 7-6 MIAA B Conference baseball eight-inning victory.

The winning run scored on when Mount Carmel’s Stephen Thomas staged a nine-pitch at bat before drawing a bases loaded walk.

Prior to that run, neither team had scored since the fifth inning. The Cougars took a 6-5 lead in the fourth when Jordan Jackson led off with a triple and scored on a sac fly. Will Bartlett led off the Glenelg Country fifth with a double and scored on a single by Tyler Russo.

Shortly after GCS honored seniors Jack Adamson, Bartlett, Brendan Grady and Will Solomon, the Dragons took its only lead, in the bottom of the first inning, on a two-run double by Bartlett. Mount Carmel answered with four runs in the top of the second inning on four hits.

In the third inning, Solomon's two-run double tied the score at five.
