Calvert Hall hosted Bel Air in a non-conference baseball game, Tuesday afternoon in Towson, and beat the Bobcats, 7-4.

Bel Air took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, only to see Calvert Hall tie the game in the secondnd, then move in front, 4-2, in the third. The Bobcats then scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game at four.

Calvert Hall scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game away and Bel Air could only muster a lone base runner in the top of the seventh as Trevor Sprinkle came on for the Cardinals and struck out the side to close the game.

For Bel Air, Jackson Struve led the way with two hits and a run scored.  Also for Bel Air, Andrew Cotton was 1-for-2,  J.D. Bruck was 1-for-3 (RBI and run scored), Michael Feinour was 1-for-3, Tyler Newton was 1-for-3 and Michael Koski had a double.

Freshman Cameron Kalandros was tagged with the loss for Bel Air.

For the Cardinal’s, Nick Delp started the game and pitched four innings. Calvert Hall’s Matt Hentschel was credited with the win.

Leading the way offensively for Calvert Hall was Jack Finn, who went 2-for-4. Also, Ian Elliott went 2-for-3 and Gabriel Nieto went 2-for-3 with a triple.

Bel Air next plays Friday in the Class 3A playoffs, while Calvert Hall begins its run in the MIAA A Conference baseball tournament next week.
