Former Mount St. Joseph and Loyola College soccer star Geaton Caltabiano, who won a championship with the Baltimore Blast last season, is the new head coach of the Gerstell Academy boys soccer program and is ready to begin building with a young Falcons squad which went 10-10-1 last fall and made the MIAA B Conference playoffs.

Caltabiano was a three-time All-MIAA selection for St. Joe (2007-2009). He played college soccer at both George Mason University and Loyola (MD), before finishing up at UMBC. Caltabiano is also a coach with the Baltimore Celtic program and has also spent the last few seasons as an assistant at St. Joe.

Nate Dresin is the top returning player for the Falcons. He was an All-MIAA pick in 2015 after scoring 4 goals and adding 13 assists. He is expected to lead the team from his midfield position.

Senior defender Jake Higgins is also back and Caltabiano said he will anchor the back but also has the ability to move forward and help with the offense.

In addition, the Falcons have senior goalkeeper Blake Bissen, an academy player with the Baltimore Armour team, who will be playing his first season of high school soccer. He is one of the top goalies in the state.
